Professor Bello Bala Shehu Becomes Federal University Birnin-Kebbi New (FUBK) Vice-Chancellor

FUBK COUNCIL APPOINT NEW VICE-CHANCELLOR
The Governing Council of the Federal University Birnin-Kebbi (FUBK) has, at its 9th meeting, held on Wednesday, 26th October, 2017, considered the report of the Joint Council and Senate Selection Board and approved the appointment of Professor Bello Bala Shehu, as the new Vice-Chancellor of the University, for a single term of five (5) years.


Until his appointment, Professor Bello Bala Shehu was the Provost of the University’s College of Health Sciences. He was at various times, the Chief Medical Director of the Usmanu Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital, Sokoto; the Chief Medical Director of the National Hospital, Abuja and Medical Director, Federal Medical Centre, Birnin-Kebbi.


Prof. B.B. Shehu, a globally-acclaimed Neurosurgeon, is a Fellow to several professional institutions including the West African College of Surgery; Royal College of Surgeons, Ireland; American College of Surgeons; and National Post Graduate Medical College of Nigeria.

He was born on 13th February, 1958 in Birnin-Kebbi, Kebbi State. He is happily married with children.
